Where are you based?
I am based in Carterton, Oxfordshire. I shoot in and around Witney, Oxford and Cheltenham (and everywhere in-between!) but let me know if you are further away as I am happy to travel.
Do you travel further afield for photo shoots?
Yes, I am happy to travel across the UK and abroad for photo shoots. In addition to my session fee shoots that are outside my catchment area will include an additional charge to cover mileage/travel costs. Any overnight accommodation and international travel will also include an additional charge to cover costs. Please get in touch and we can discuss location ideas.
Where do your sessions take place?
All of my sessions take place on location so I will come to you and we will have your photoshoot at home or out and about in one of your favourite places. That could be the park or the woods - anywhere that you and your family have fun. If you would like to shoot outside but are unsure of where to do it please get in touch as I have lots of suggestions for beautiful spaces where the children can run around and enjoy themselves.
What should we wear for our photo shoot?
First and foremost wear whatever you are happy and comfortable in! I always suggest avoiding any clothing with logos and big, bold patterns like spots and stripes as they can be distracting. If you are having a family shoot then it can look nice if you are all wearing clothes of a similar colour. Check out my Pintrest boards for inspiration from all over the world wide web.
Is there anything we should bring to our shoot?
If we are shooting out and about then it's a good idea to take the things that you normally have with you on a family outing, like your children's favourite toy, a ball and some snacks. Wet wipes always come in handy too!
For newborn and children's sessions please feel free to bring family heirlooms, special toys and outfits. I have a collection of blankets and outfits for you to choose from as well.
What happens if the weather is bad on the day our 'out and about' shoot is planned?
Don't panic, the light on a grey and overcast day is soft and flattering and produces beautiful pictures. If it looks like rain then we have a few options:
1. Don our wellies and make a feature of it! Think big umbrellas and jumping in puddles. Great fun!
2. Change the location to your home and stay cosy and warm, playing indoors where the family is happy.
3. If the weather is truely terrible and you really want your shoot outside we can reschedule but please note that this is subject to my availability and you may have to wait a few weeks.
What if my child is unwell?
Please let me know as soon as possible if you need to postpone your shoot due to illness. I wouldn't dream of asking a child who isn't feeling well to take part in a photoshoot and it is much better to wait until they are better for our session.
When should I book my maternity session?
I suggest that we book your maternity session for when you are between 30 - 36 weeks pregnant.
When should I book our newborn session?
The ideal time for a newborn photoshoot is during the first two weeks of life when your tiny bundle of joy is often most sleepy. I suggest booking your session after your 20 weeks scan for ten days after your due date and we can confirm/amend the date as soon as possible after baby is born.
Don't worry if your baby is older - we can get gorgeous baby photos at any age. Every moment is a milestone - I'm a mum so I can attest to that!
How long do your sessions last?
Family shoots and maternity session tend to last around 2 hours and newborn sessions are up to 4 hours to include feeding, changing and cuddle time. I love what I do and I don't watch the clock so sessions may carry on beyond the suggested timeframe if we are having too much fun!
What time of day is best for our photoshoot?
I'm flexible so whatever works best for your routine. If we are going to the park then its a good idea start at around 9am when we will have the place to ourselves. This also gives us plenty of time for our shoot in soft, morning light and we will usually finish before lunchtime (don't worry, I bring my own snacks if we overrun so you won't need to feed me!).
How will we receive our photos?
You will receive your images via a private online gallery, which allows you to download the high resolution images directly onto your computer. The photos are then yours to share as you wish.
Why do your packages only offer the digital files?
I offer fixed price sessions that include the photoshoot and a set of professionally edited images so there are no hidden costs. I don't believe in forcing prints on you and insisting on a minimum spend. I want you to have complete control over your pictures and to be able to share them with your friends and family and on social media (you will also get all photos in a web optimised format too and can share them instantly through your online gallery).
My packages include a collection of between 6-10 images and I will use my professional discretion to select the stand out images that will make up your collection. If you can't get enough of the memories from your photoshoot and want more you can contact me for a viewing of the remaining images and you can choose an unlimited number of digital downloads for £15 per image.
How do accept payment?
I ask for a 50% deposit to be made upon booking to secure your photoshoot and remaining balance no more than ten days after your shoot. I accept cash or bank transfer.
We want to print our pictures and create some wall art - can you do this for us?
Yes! You can print your images and turn them into stunning, heirloom quality wall art in minutes - straight from your photo gallery. Your prints, canvases and more will be delivered directly to you in a matter of days.
