My little captive model is eight months old next week. He will be celebrating by spitting his food out with such force that the dog and I both get covered in it (this is the highlight of the dog's day!). My celebrations will be doubled (with a tiny tinge of trepidation) because my maternity leave is over and the time has come for A and I to leave each other's side for more than an hour. It is time to get back to business. Someone else will now occasionally have the pleasure of being pelted with yoghurt, haha!.
I adore my job and consider myself privileged to be let into the lives of so many wonderful families, some of whom are only a few days new. It's going to be hard to leave the little man behind in the beginning but I can't wait to get back to helping create beautiful, lasting memories for other mums and dads.
I'm off to wash my hair as its bound to have A's dinner in it.
Baby photoshoots aren't just for newborns! How about a mini sitter session?
If you are anything like me then your phone is full of photos of your little one and their milestone moments... their first smile, first spoonful of food...the first time they grabbed the sky remote (momentous!). Newborn photoshoots are very popular (who doesn't love a tiny, sleepy newborn!) but a lot of people ask me when is the best time to capture baby other than in the first two weeks?
There is no wrong time to book a photoshoot but I have a special place in my heart for the magical moment that baby can sit confidently by themselves and the fun you can have taking photos like this one. Sitting up opens a whole new world to your baby and just look at their perfect posture and cute little posterior. Perfect!
Contact me about a 'mini sitter session'. A one hour photoshoot and five photos for just £100.
I'm Helen and my passion for photography began in-front of the lens. No, I wasn't a model - far from it! This is me with Spot-the-dog when I was about 3. I love this picture but as a teenager I endured formal family portraits that still seem to make it back onto my parent's shelf (despite my numerous sabotage attempts). I now channel my creativity into creating pictures that every member of the family wants on display!
